Lee Redmond (Born 1941) from Salt Lake City, Utah holds the Guinness World Record for longest fingernails by a female. At their peak length in 2008, her fingernails combined for a total of 28 ft and 4 inches combined for all 10 fingers with the longest individual nail being 35 inches (right thumb). She was officially recognized in 2003 by Guinness World Records.
Lee Redmond stopped cutting her nails in 1979. In 2009, she suffered a serious accident as a passenger in an SUV in a four-car pile-up in Holladay, Utah. She was ejected from the car, and her record-setting nails were broken off.
